The US federal government’s transition to Simpler.Grants.gov introduces a streamlined interface designed specifically for searching funding opportunities. The platform provides a modern layout, faster filtering, and a more accessible search experience compared to the legacy system. These updates are meant to simplify the research and review of opportunity details, adjust filters, and export search results. Because the tool focuses solely on discovery, users should be able to browse opportunities without creating an account or navigating the broader application infrastructure found in the original system.
At this time, the existing Grants.gov platform remains necessary for the full application process. It supports applicant registration, workspace collaboration, form submission, saved searches, and tracking of application status, features not available in the simplified tool. As a result, Simpler.Grants.gov functions as a companion resource rather than a replacement. Grant professionals may use it to identify opportunities efficiently, then transition to Grants.gov when they are ready to prepare and submit applications.
