FY26 Appropriations Update

As you may have read, the FY26 omnibus bill passed the House and is currently in the Senate. The Senate Appropriations committee has released this helpful tracker that includes a partial list of funding streams that are under threat of being reduced or eliminated if the budget passes as is – https://www.appropriations.senate.gov/trumps-unprecedented-funding-freeze-hits-communities-across-america

All three of us are members of the Grant Professionals Association. GPA has signed on to a letter written by the National Council of Nonprofits advocating for all nonprofits. The letter reads in part: “…we respectfully urge you to protect and strengthen the nonprofit sector in the budget reconciliation package and continue to support the vital role nonprofit organizations play in our communities.” We agree. Nonprofits provide essential services and their budgets should be strengthened, not curtailed.
